New York Giants QB Daniel Jones Signs Massive Four-Year Extension

Deal Worth $160 Million with Incentives

Jones Cleared for Contact, Set to Play Raiders

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has agreed to a massive four-year contract extension worth $160 million, sources told ESPN. The deal includes a $82 million guarantee, with an additional $35 million available in incentives.

The Giants and Jones reached an agreement just minutes before the NFL's deadline to place the franchise tag on players. The extension keeps Jones in New York through the 2026 season.

In addition to the financial details, the deal reportedly includes a no-trade clause and a significant signing bonus. Jones is expected to earn around $29 million in 2023, according to ESPN.

Head coach Brian Daboll has stated that Jones has been cleared for contact and is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. This is a significant development for the Giants, who have been without their starting quarterback for the past two games due to an ankle injury.

Jones has been inconsistent in his first three seasons with the Giants, but he showed signs of improvement in 2022 before suffering the ankle injury. He threw for over 3,200 yards and 15 touchdowns, while also rushing for 708 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Giants are hoping that Jones can continue to develop and become the franchise quarterback they have been looking for. The new contract extension is a sign of faith in Jones and the belief that he can lead the team to success in the coming years.
